Who is Cardiff Double Bass Day for?
We are excited to be welcoming classical double bass players of all ages and abilities from across all four corners of Wales, the wider UK and even beyond! We have an exciting schedule of activities throughout the day to cater for all, including younger and older school age participants from ages 11 up to 18, and across playing levels from Grades 1 to 8.
We are also looking forward to welcoming music college and conservatoire students, including undergraduates and postgraduates – including hopefully some brave enough to play in our masterclass session!
We’re also excited to be extending this opportunity to adults, and are keen to have any amateur bassists who play in their local orchestras join us for this special event too. Whatever your level, we’d be delighted to have you join us!

- Double Bass Quartets / Massed Bass Ensemble
- Expert Professional Coaching on Orchestral Excerpts
- Including Both Symphonic + Operatic Excerpts
- Audition Advice + Exam Preparation
- Solo Recital Performances
- Student Masterclasses
